Since September 1, 2025, French doctors are required to use new templates for sick leave certificates. These are electronic, but a new secure paper form is also available. Cross-border workers, your general practitioner may be based in France and can issue your sick leave. Here are the procedures depending on the country where you work, but be careful: the old form must no longer be used, even if you work abroad!
If you work in Luxembourg (CNS)
You must submit the new secured Cerfa form (paper version) directly to the CNS within 3 working days (online or by post). The CNS now only accepts the new secured Cerfa forms for processing sick leave certificates issued in France.
Address:
Caisse Nationale de Santé – Indemnités pécuniaires
