If you are a pupil or student and wish to study abroad, do an internship, obtain information on recognition of diplomas in the Greater Region, EURES Greater Region can inform you via its Working & Living website. Don’t hesitate to consult the brochures or contact a EURES advisor if you would like additional information.
What can EURES do for you?
Completing an internship allows students to put their academic or university skills into practice, to acquire new skills and begin their immersion in the professional world.
To meet these objectives, the partners of the EURES Greater Region network provide you with information on cross-border studies and apprenticeships, equivalence of diplomas and internships abroad.
EURES advisors of the public employment services inform you of the most promising professions and activity sectors in the three cross-border countries: Pôle emploi, Bundesagentur für Arbeit, ADEM, FOREM, ADG. The details provided on the status of the student/trainee by a EURES advisor will facilitate your administrative procedures, as well as enlighten you on your rights and obligations in terms of taxation, labour law and social protection.
The public employment services of the Greater Region offer you workshops, advice and information on finding your first cross-border job.
If you are considering completing study and internship periods in companies and higher education institutions in different countries, you can consult the EUROGUIDANCE website, an ideal orientation tool for cross-border mobility.

Cross-border Apprenticeships
The Saarland and Lorraine economies have been closely linked for decades. Beyond this border region. Germany and France maintain important economic ties. Key indicators such as investment rates, tourist flows and import/export data between the two countries are proof of this. In order to intensify and improve cross-border cooperation in terms of employment, growth and innovation, an “Agreement on Saarland-Lorraine Cross-Border Apprenticeships” was signed in 2014. With this agreement, a new apprenticeship system has been created, allowing new prospects for companies and young people on both sides of the border. This brochure informs you of the principle, modalities and contacts who are at your disposal for the implementation of your future cross-border apprenticeship contracts.
